Campus Move-In Technology Resources

Move in. Get connected. You've got this.

Your ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Tech Move-In Guide

Set up the technology you will use every day, from Wi-Fi and smart devices to your Mule Card, Duo, classes, email and library resources.

Start getting connected I need help from a person

Welcome to campus!

Moving in is busy enough without technology getting in the way. Use this page as your quick starting point. Each topic includes a short explanation and a link to the full instructions when you are ready to set it up.

Helpful to have nearby

  • Your ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Network ID and password
  • Your phone
  • The devices you want to connect
  • A few minutes for updates and sign-ins

Start here

Get connected and ready for class

Work through these in any order. Wi-Fi, your ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ account and Duo are the best first steps because you will use them to reach most other ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ services.

Wi-Fi

Connect your laptop, phone, tablet or Chromebook

Get your everyday devices on ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Wi-Fi so you can study, message friends and use campus services without burning through mobile data.

Smart devices

Connect smart TVs, game systems and streaming devices

Devices that cannot use the regular ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ sign-in page need to be registered first. This includes many smart TVs, consoles, Roku and Fire TV devices.

Mule Card

Set up your Mobile Mule Card

Your Mule Card is more than an ID. Use it for campus dining and retail, residence hall and facility access, ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ events and other campus services. The Mule Post can help you get it set up.

Get your Mobile Mule Card

Dining funds

Check or add Dining Dollars and Central Cash

Add funds online and use your Mule Card at participating campus dining and retail locations. Dining Dollars and Central Cash remain available from semester to semester while you are enrolled.

Manage your Mule Card funds

Password reset

Reset your ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ password

Forgot your password? Start at the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Single Sign-On page, select Forgot Password, and enter your Network ID. ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ will send a reset link to the personal email address connected to your student record. After you create a new password, close any older sign-in pages before trying again.

Duo security

Set up Duo multifactor authentication

Duo adds a second check when you sign in and helps protect your ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ account. The Duo Mobile app is the recommended option, and push notifications make approving a sign-in quick.

JCKL Library

Sign in to the JCKL website

Use your ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ account to reach library databases, articles, research guides, study room reservations and help from a librarian. Every ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ student has a library account.

A few more essentials

Make your first week easier
These are easy to overlook during move-in, but setting them up now can save stress when classes begin.

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ email

Open your ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ email

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ email is the university’s official way to contact students. Check it regularly for messages about classes, advising, enrollment, holds and other important campus information.

Brightspace

Find your classes in Brightspace

Brightspace is where instructors may post course materials, assignments, grades and announcements. Sign in through ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ Single Sign-On using your Network ID, password and Duo.

Learn about student applications

MyCentral

Get familiar with MyCentral

MyCentral is your hub for enrollment, housing, financial services and campus announcements. It is worth bookmarking and checking regularly.

Account safety

Learn how to spot phishing

Unexpected sign-in links, urgent requests and messages asking for passwords should slow you down. When something feels wrong, do not click. Contact the Technology Support Center and ask.

Review account security resources

One important residence hall reminder: Personal wireless routers are not permitted because they can interfere with the campus network. Register smart devices through ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ instead.

Real people. Real help.

Technology not cooperating?

You do not have to figure it out alone. The Technology Support Center can help with ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ accounts, Wi-Fi, Duo and other university technology.
