Students using VA educational benefits (Chapter 33, 30, 31, 1606, or 35) or Military Tuition Assistance (Federal Tuition Assistance and State Tuition Assistance) will receive this package each semester they use these benefits:

• Application fee waived
• Exemption from the new student fee
• Exemption from the mandatory general student fees
• Free parking pass ( must be charged to student account

This discount will be applied once the Certification Request Form has been submitted and the Military and Veterans Services Department confirms student is benefit eligible. 

Veterans that have exhausted VA educational benefits (Chapter 33, 30, 31, 1606, or 35) while attending ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ will continue to receive the Military Tuition Package Extension. 

This discount will be applied once the Certification Request Form has been submitted and the Military and Veterans Services Department confirms student has exhausted VA educational benefits. 

Will reduce undergraduate tuition to $250 per credit hour for students that are actively serving in the military (Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserves).

Students eligible for this benefit need to fill out the Active Military Tuition Rate to receive the discount. If you are using Federal Tuition Assistance or State Tuition Assistance , this discount will automatically be applied. 

 

20% off graduate tuition for students that are actively serving in the military (Active Duty, National Guard, or Reserves).

Students eligible for this benefit need to fill out the Active Military Graduate Award Form Form to receive the discount. If you are using Federal Tuition Assistance, this discount will automatically be applied. 

 

At ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ we provide in-state rates for all service members (active duty, guard, and reserves), veterans, and dependents (spouses and children). This includes those that may not be using VA education benefits and no matter where the service member is serving. 

The Command Pass makes it possible for all veterans, active duty military service members, Guard, Reservists and their dependents to gain free access to all Mules and Jennies home sporting events. Individuals who are eligible under this program will be provided general admission for themselves and their immediate family members upon showing their military or veteran ID at the ticket window prior to each game. The pass is good for all regular season, home athletic events.

 

The Command Pass is also extended to Theatre and Dance Events. Discount can only be applied at the Box Office located in Martin 113 or call 660-543-8811.

The Post 9/11 GI Bill®  provides benefits for students who served in the military on active duty for at least 90 aggregate days after September 10, 2001, or if the student was discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge.

Montgomery GI Bill®  benefits provides up to 36 months of benefits to service members with at least two years of active duty service.

Veteran Readiness and Employment benefits are available to veterans who are at least 10% disabled, apply for the program, and have received or will receive a discharge that is not dishonorable. 

Select Reserve benefits are for eligible members in the Air, Army, Coast Guard, and Marine Reserves and Air and Army National Guard. 36 months of entitlement but will end once the member leaves service. 

Survivors and Dependents assistance provides education and training opportunities to eligible dependents of veterans who are permanently and totally disabled due to a service-related condition or eligible dependents of veterans who died while on active duty or as a result of a service-related condition. 

Army Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard members are eligible for 18 credit hours per military fiscal year (Oct 1 - Sept 30).

Active Duty and Reserve members are eligible for $4,500 each fiscal year in tuition assistance. 

 

Air National Guard members are eligible for tuition assistance funding : 15 hours in the Fall, 15 hours in the Spring, and 9 hours in the Summer. 

Army National Guard members must exhaust all Federal Tuition Assistance prior to being able to use State Tuition Assistance if you have completed basic training and technical training. 

 

The Missouri Returning Heroes Act, Section 173.900, RSMo, established August 28, 2008, as amended effective August 28, 2019, provides reduced tuition for certain combat veterans attending public institutions of higher education.

If elgible students must submit the form each semester.

Below is a list of programs that are currently not approved for VA funding at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½:

• Individualized Program  *Except BS and BA General Studies
• THRIVE Program
• Last 2 years of the Radiologic Technology Program is not funded by VA at ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ as it is completed at affiliates and their sites. Students will need to contact affiliate to see if it is approved for VA funding.

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ is in compliance with the requirements of PL 113-146 the Veteran Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014, Section 702. ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ will waive all non resident rates to uniformed service veterans and their qualified dependents covered under Section 702.

For recipients of Chapter 31 and Chapter 33 of the G.I. Bill® , the University will not impose any penalty, including the assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries or other institutional facilities, or the requirement that a Chapter 31 or Chapter 33 recipient borrow additional funds to cover the individual’s inability to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement of tuition or mandatory fees payment by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. See Section 103 of the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018 for the chapter.

However, to qualify for this provision, such students may be required to: 

Produce the VA’s Certificate of Eligibility (COE) by the second week of class; 
Provide a written request to be certified by submitting the Certification Request Form.

ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ is in compliance with providing in-state rates for VA beneficiaries. At ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ we provide in-state rates to all military service members, veterans, and their dependents whether they are using VA benefits or not. 

The School Certifying Official will enter the full time indicator upon certifying benefits to the VA and VA will make the final determination of rate of pursuit.

*Students using Chapter 33 benefits must be 51% enrolled to receive a housing stipend.

Military Tuition Assistance (TA) is awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will attend school for the entire period for which the assistance is awarded. When a student withdraws, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of TA funds originally awarded. 

To comply with Department of Defense (DoD), the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ (ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½) will return any unearned TA funds on a prorate basis through at least the 60% portion of the period for which the funds were provided. TA funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period, with unearned funds returned based upon when a student drops the authorized course(s). 

Return of unearned TA funds may result in a student owing a debt to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½. All students are advised to consult with Student Financial Services before dropping any class that is supported by TA. 

Instances where service members stop attending due to a military service obligation, ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ will follow the Students Called to Military Service Guidelines.
