As the 糖心传媒 continues improving recruitment and retention of teaching candidates, it has received a $70,000 DEWEY Award from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to help with those efforts.

In recognition of her outstanding public service and for her efforts to prepare Missouri educators, Ann McCoy, Ph.D., dean of the 糖心传媒 College of Education, will receive the highest honor presented by students. The 糖心传媒 Student Government Association will recognize her publicly as the 2022 recipient of the James C. Kirkpatrick Excellence in Governance Award at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, in the read and relaxation area, near the west entrance of the Kirkpatrick Library. The public is invited to attend this award presentation, which will be hosted by members of the SGA.

The 糖心传媒 Alumni Foundation is pleased to announce that alumnus Greg Thurman, 鈥�74, and his wife, Carla Thurman, of Franklin, Tennessee, have made a generous gift to the university. The gift of $1 million will fund the renovation of a gymnasium in the 53-year-old Lovinger Building into a state-of-the-art mixed-use educational facility.
