What you will study

Your MBA coursework will strengthen your skills in business, leadership, communication and problem-solving. You鈥檒l also learn how to use data to understand challenges, compare options and make stronger business decisions.

Your Airport Management concentration builds on those skills with coursework focused on the day-to-day and long-term challenges of managing airports.

Topics include:

  • Airport Planning and Design: Learn how airport infrastructure, capacity and long-term planning support safe and efficient operations.
  • Airport Finance: Build your understanding of budgeting, funding, financial regulations and other financial responsibilities involved in managing an airport.
  • Aviation Safety Program Management: Explore ways to identify risk, manage safety programs and support regulatory compliance.
  • Strategic Communications: Develop the communication skills needed to work effectively with employees, passengers, community members, government agencies and other aviation partners.

Throughout the MBA core, you鈥檒l also build skills in areas such as forecasting, data analysis and improving business operations. You can apply these tools to airport challenges such as managing resources, planning for changing demand and improving efficiency.

Prepare for airport industry certifications

Your Airport Management coursework aligns with standards from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and can help you prepare for professional certifications while earning your MBA.

Two airport leadership courses prepare you for the AAAE Certified Member (C.M.) credential, which demonstrates your knowledge of key airport management functions. If you have already earned your C.M., you may be eligible to receive course credit.

Your coursework can also help prepare you for additional AAAE credentials, including:

  • Airport Certified Employee (ACE) 鈥 Safety Management Systems
  • Airport Certified Employee (ACE) 鈥 Airport Finance

These industry credentials can complement your MBA and demonstrate your knowledge in specialized areas of airport management.
